Blast From the Past

Remember the Halloween Party at Beast's apartment on 31 Oct 2004. An evening of great fun: BBQ, pumpkin carving, mahjong, scrabble, karaoke, drinks and Magneto's birthday celebration.

Chanced upon this video clip the other day. *drum roll* Presenting our favourite Singalorean singer. Look at his left and right. Ahemmm....interesting accompaniment.

CK, I really think you have a great voice! Wonderful chance to make good use of it in your next posting! kekeke :)

Pre-NY Party

The Chan family graciously hosted the Singaloreans in their home in Singapore on 30Dec. They made the effort at decorating and getting dressed. You'll have to judge for yourself how well the rest of us did. Hmm.... Does Thomas aka Beast look like the cast from Brokeback Mountain?? Kekeke
Some of us were busy at the mahjong table while others were chatting in the garden.Scumptous spread of food and Beast's Bar: Mojito, Cranberry and Rum, Beer etc....no wonder we were all tipsy at the end of the party:)

At least we were more in step when it came to the belated celebration of Flo, aka Storm's birthday. With drink in hand, she decided that the fire on the cake was going out, one way or another.

A big THANK YOU to the Chan family for hosting the wonderful party!

Christmas Party 2006

Before everyone headed off for the holidays, the Singaloreans got together at Margaret and Chris' place for possibly the last major get together for 2006. Theme: Christmas. Gift exchange being part of the programme, a tradition here for a while now.

And what a feast we had! Almost everyone who could cook made something. Marge was the chief contributor, with the soup, o-cha chicken, ginger pork and veg. Neo braised the (not fat enough according to some) pork belly. Kah Ming samballed the prawns and Saritha curried the pomfret. Ser Joo ching'd the tng. Best food at any party so far.

Those of us that are challenged in the culinary department took care of the 'more important' aspect of any successful party i.e. the various elixirs of life. What's Christmas without eggnog and Bacardi Breezers... hahaha or should that be hohoho.

And of course some were there early enough to in indulge in one of the favourite past times of the far east, mahjong. There was so much food left over that a marathon MJ session was held so that the food could be consumed as supper. The revellers finally called it a 'night' at 5.30am. Needless to say, a belly good time was had by all... CK

Squirrel Fish 松鼠鱼

For those of you who have eaten this at Tchi (or something that's supposed to be it), this is what it looks like. My friend just came back from Hangzhou and I saw this in her blog. Finally, mystery solved. For me anyway... CK

Quiet Night Out

That's what we decided to do. Dinner at Cosmo's was only for four of us as most of the Keppelites were tied up with people from headoffice. Everyone just loves the new terrace. And I love the kick that has been reinstated into the tom yam.

After dinner, JT joined us and we headed out to another chill-out place, Blue Bar. Managed to get a table outside, which was lovely in the Bangalore weather this time of year. I surprised everyone by ordering a Long Island Iced Tea. Hey, what's wrong with a change every now and then?

After the bar closed, we actually adjourned to Mynt for a cuppa. Not a bad way to end an evening if you ask me. Ternasser made some new blunders which cracked us up. She actually thought doctors slap new-borns in the face to make them cry. Thomas chipped in, "That's only if your face looks like an ass."

Hi-Tea

Singalorean Christmas party next week at Woodsville. This is a pre-thing if you like. Furthermore, Thomas had extended his stay by one day. Serjoo was also in town for a rare visit even though she is supposed to be based here now. So between her and Margaret, we had our hi-tea menu all set. Mee Goreng, glutinous rice and chinese dessert. Ternasser added a sinful treat..., not 'xia4 mian4', KFC lah.

In between, more than half the group adjourned to Safina Plaza for another round of shopping. Mr. Singh there must really be having his best Christmas ever.

Two football matches and some Chung Wah later, it was time for Thomas to be on his way. Until next time.
